If you are looking for a high end smartphone then the first thing that comes to mind is the Samsung Galaxy S3. The design of the S3 is somewhat similar to the older S model but it is the features that rule the roost. This phone has a curvy design rather than the standard rectangle design. The body is made of plastic. It would have been better if the makers had used metal to provide a rich look to this high end phone.
The screen measures a whopping 4.8 inches. This is quite a huge screen when compared with other top end smartphones. There is the standard home button at the bottom of the screen along with two touch sensitive screens. The resolution is extremely clear. You can watch the latest HD format videos right in your Samsung Galaxy S3.
You can capture all you special moments in the high resolution 8 MP camera. However every high end phone offers a minimum 8 MP camera. Users say that it should have been at least a 12 MP camera. You now have your personal digital assistant in the form of S Voice. It can do many common tasks such as set an alarm and making an appointment.
You can say that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the advanced form of Galaxy 2. One of the most noticeable features of this new smartphone from Samsung is the multi picture burst mode. With this feature the user can click 8 pictures in a sequence. You can then delete the less preferred ones.
You can do various tasks while the video is on and there is no need to put the video recording in standby mode. The phone uses S Beam to integrate well with WiFi. This feature allows quick sharing of files. You get high transfer speeds of 1GB per 3 minutes. The Stay Smart feature makes use of motion sensor feature which can recognize your eyes and your face. In case you go to sleep, then the screen switches off automatically.
The S3 has a powerful Exynos 4212 processor. This processor has speeds of 1.8GHz. The processor does not gobble up too much battery power. There is 2GB of RAM so that you can do multitasking with ease. Memory can be expanded to 32Gb with the help of memory card.
Screen resolution is 1280×720. Gorilla Glass on the display screen prevents any scratches. The camera has a LED flash and it can also record videos in 1080p format. The secondary camera has maximum resolution of 1.9MP and it can be used for video calling.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is powered by 2100 mAh lithium battery. This battery gives 12 hours of talk time and 730 hours of standby time. The phone weighs just 133 gms. There is also a social tag feature which recognizes faces in the photos you click and then connect them to social media websites such as Facebook.
The Direct Call feature is also very useful. Suppose you are messaging someone and you decide to call him, then all you have to do is put the phone to the ear and the phone will call that person. There is no need for you to go through call logs or contacts to find your friend’s number. When you pick up the phone after some time, the phone gives a vibrating nudge to alert you of missed calls and messages.
Conclusion – The Samsung galaxy S3 is a good smartphone with good features and much more. However it has some flaws as well such as plastic body casing and 8MP camera instead of a higher resolution camera.
